Jimmy D. Womack, Jr. is a Law Enforcement veteran with more than 31 years in the field. He has extensive expertise in educational/campus security for primary and secondary schools as well as student safety and transportation. He is currently the Director of Security and Transportation for the Arlington, Texas Independent School District, a position he has held since 1998. The Arlington school district is the ninth largest in the State of Texas and one of the top 60 largest school districts in the nation, with more than 63,000 students and 8,000 employees.
Jimmy Womack is considered an expert in the area of campus security and the design and implementation of integrated physical security systems including CCTV, metal detectors, and access control systems. He is also utilized extensively for the expertise in policy matters as it relates to primary and secondary school campuses throughout the State of Texas. During his tenure with the Arlington ISD he has overseen full security audits and implemented model policies for student safety. He has developed and implemented crisis response and emergency operations plans and is a member of the regional emergency operations team.
He has a comprehensive background in special events planning related to school event security and other large scale events along with participant transportation and movement. Along with student activities for the District, he is currently involved in projects in conjunction with the newly constructed Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
Jimmy Womack is a certified Master Peace Officer for the State of Texas and has an extensive educational and training background. He is also a certified police instructor and firearms training expert. He holds numerous certificates in campus/educational safety, student transportation, and all law enforcement areas. He serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Texas School District Police Chiefs Association.
