MHA Associate Friedberg Finalist for Director of the Year

MHA Associate Jason Friedberg has been named a finalist for the Campus Safety Director of the Year Award for 2010.  “Campus Safety magazine honors the top police chiefs and security directors of our nation’s hospitals, schools and universities for their achievements and outstanding management of their campuses. Eight law enforcement executives have been named finalists in this hard-fought contest”. The finalists will be featured in the next (January/February) issue of Campus Safety. Healy appointed a Fellow of the U.S. Department of Education’s Higher Education Center

Steven J. Healy has been appointed a Fellow of the U.S. Department of Education’s Higher Education Center for Alcohol, Drug Abuse, and Violence Prevention.  As a Center Fellow, he will be helping the Department and the Center fulfill the terms of their Center contract to serve higher education professionals and communities surrounding campuses in the development of safe, healthy, and learning-conducive environments. He will assist with review of publications or Web documents, possible technical assistance, and training engagements - in both virtual and in-person formats - and to advise on emerging issues.

Gregory A. Thomas asked to serve on Congressional Subcommittee

MH&A Associate Gregory A. Thomas has been asked to serve on the Subcommittee on Education and Juvenile Justice on the Congressionally Mandated National Commission on Children and Disasters. The Committee recently issued a report to Congress and to the President that outlines their recommendations for schools and juvenile justice facilities.
