Margolis Moderating Webinar on Threat Assessment for NACUA

MH&A Managing Partner, Dr. Gary J. Margolis, will be moderating a webinar on behavioral threat assessment for the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA). Statistics continue to show that college and university campuses are among the safest environments in the country. Nonetheless, violent crime does occur on and near college campuses every year and recent events in particular have focused attention on campus crime and the responsibility of college officials to assess and potentially predict the threat of violence by members of the campus community. Threat assessment teams play a critical role in an institution’s ability to determine if an individual poses, or may reasonably pose, a threat of violence and to intervene to avert the threat and maintain the safety of the situation. Panelists include NACUA member Linda Schutjer, Senior Associate Legal Counsel for the Colorado State University System, Dr. Jeff Pollard, Director of George Mason University’s Counseling and Psychological Services Center, and Lianne Tuomey, Chief of Police for the University of Vermont.
